The children in Year 6 have been inspired by the book "The Final Year" by Matt Goodfellow and would like to share their experiences of their first week in Year 6. We have shared these experiences as blog posts. You can find them all below.

6B

Aaron

Hi everyone,

I’m Aaron and I’m going to share my first week of year 6 and what I’m looking forward to throughout the year.

The classroom

Inside the school, there was a classroom called 6B. At first it was empty - it was only filled with tables and equipment. The electric board was turned off. Then we entered and me and my friends were doing 5 a day.

Our first day together

When I went into my new classroom, I saw my teacher, Mrs Beresford, and my friends sat in their seats. At first, I was scared but, in the end, it wasn’t so bad. I also enjoyed setting up learning journeys in the afternoon. There was a thunder storm it was just like my feelings - all mixed up.

Our work

In 6B, we did English and maths on our first day. In English, we started our new book and got told we are going to write blogs. Also, in maths, we did place value and numbers to ten million.

My 6 week holiday

In my six week holiday, I went to an amazing fair with my friends and went on a lot of rides. I also had a lot of food. I enjoyed relaxing and renovating my house with my family. I also looked after my brother’s dogs and played outside with my friends.

Alexia

Hello everyone,

My name is Alexia and I’ve just started Year 6 – the final year of primary school! I wanted to share what my first week was like.

A new classroom, a new teacher

In the class room, I’m sat next to Maddison and my teachers are called Mrs Beresford, Mrs Gleaves and Mrs Franks. The table have names. Can you believe that? We’ve got working walls and book displays too.

Our Work

In PE, we do Hockey (we do revers dribbling and open dribbling.) In English, we are doing blogs (it is my best writing ever!) . In Geography, we are doing locality.

The experience of year 6

I think it is going to be fun and great!

Damarai

Hi everyone!

My name is Damarai and I have started Year 6 at Long Toft Primary school - it is the last Year of Primary school! I want to share what my first week was like. I’m very excited for what Year 6 has in store for me.

What I did offer the 6-week holidays

On the third day, I went to Skegness a in a car to the caravan. I went to eat every day when I went to Skegness - mostly fish and chips. It was yummy. I went to the relaxing beach three times and it was fun. I went to fantasy land and I enjoyed it. In the holiday, I watch a lot of TV.

What we did on our first day

There was a big thunder storm in the afternoon - it was very loud. We did circle time to share our feelings about our first day and what we did in the summer holiday. We met our new teachers and new classmates.

What work we did in the first week

We did PE – Hockey - and we even saw red arrows! In History we learnt about the RAF and in Geography – locality - we learnt about blogs. In maths, we did sheets and it was easy.

What the classroom looks like

I sit next to Khloe on sloths table near the window. We had lots of equipment like a pen and pencil.

Filipe

Hello!!

My names Filipe and I’m in the final year of primary/year 6!

In the holidays, I went to my friends/cousins house, plus my dad drove us to the Blackpool tower (we called it black bonjour). Also, he let us buy ANYTHING with a 10 pound note!

Our first day in year 6 was GREAT!!

Unlike in Year 5, it’s so spacious inside but it doesn’t have an aircon (but…I got used to it.) Suddenly, while I was doing my work, a thunder storm interrupted me A LOT . On Friday, we went out for P.E, it was hockey and I thought we were using pucks but we were using tennis balls. And again, something crazy happened, we saw red arrows! I didn’t know how many there were. I tried to wave to them but they didn’t see me.

Gracie H

Hi everyone,

My name is Gracie and I’ve just started Year 6 (my last year of Long Toft Primary School.) I wanted to explain how my first week has been and what I am exited for.

New class New teacher

My new teacher is Mrs Beresford she is really kind and helpful. On my first day, I walked in feeling a bit agitated but also excited. After we put our things away, Mrs Beresford told us were to sit. On my table there is Issac, Ruby and Levi -James. Then we did circle time where we shared how we felt and Mrs Beresford told us if we had a job – I have the job of doing breakfast club ASDA orders.

My classroom

In our class , every table has a name . The names are iguanas (my table), tree frogs, snakes, sloths and macaws . Plus, we have a big board, so that’s an advantage. There are 7 tables of 4. 5 are in use and the back two are for groups.

Our work

In PE , we have started hockey and forest schools. They are both really fun. During hockey on Friday 6-7 red arrows planes flew over us! In maths we did a sheet and even did some old SATS questions! Then in English we are doing these blogs .

Summer holidays

In the summer holiday, I went to the Isle of Sheppy in Kent, it was fun! Most of the summer holidays I’ve been at the park with my friend (lacey) that was fun too.

Final thoughts

This week was amazing! I loved every single bit of it.

Thank you for reading my blog!

Isaac

Hi

In summer holidays before starting year 6 it was good. I was playing piano - Pirates of the Caribean. I also played on my switch.

The classroom was good but we have to work a lot.

At dinner break, I went to the hall where we go to assembly and I went on the piano

During our first day together, we had maths (5 a day) after maths we had circle time. In circle time, we shared our feelings.

James

Hi everyone !

My name is James and I am going to be telling you about my first week in Year 6!

My summer holidays

My holidays were REALLY FUN! I did lots of different things like: I went to this place called Sprotborough flash - it was really cool you could’ve walked across a SUPER high bridge. I also had a sleepover at my friend’s house - we played football, board games and EVEN HAD PIZZA!

The Classroom

Our classroom is really big - there is lots of decor and boards. We have a separate room where we store are books and paper. On our windowledge, we have a lot of plants and flowers. In the corner of the room, we have a reading corner with all sorts of different genre books.

Our first day

On our first day, we talked about locality and airways. After that, we had to set up our learning journeys (there was lots of sticking in.) We also talked about World War 2. The last thing, there was even a THUNDER STORM.

Our work

In Maths, we are learning place value and long multiplication. English is different though, now we are learning about locality - the same as in History and Geography. And last but not least, we are doing hockey in PE.

What a week

So, to sum it all up the first day has been pretty AMAZING!

Jeremy

Hi everyone!

Before I went back to school, I had an adventure with my family to a beach. We had so much fun - playing and exploring around the beach and the best part was that I went on a boat ride in Scarborough.

When I was back in school, there where many new thing and there were many tables with animal names. I sat on the sloths table with my friends. Straight away, I saw my new teacher Mrs Beresford and some others. Then it was circle time and many people talked about their summer and I was interested in some of them.

The first lesson was maths (my favourite subject) but it was different - it was on a sheet. Soon it was English, we did SVO (subject, verb, object) which was fun.

When it was the afternoon, there was a thunder storm while we were doing the history of the Doncaster Airport. During the afternoon, I found out that for PE we are doing hockey to Christmas or Halloween but I don’t know because I forgot. At last, it was home time so we chose a book and read a bit, then it we went home at the end of the day.

Thank you all for reading my blog!

Khloe

Hi everyone,

My name is Khloe! I will be telling you about my first day in Year 6. So, I’m going to start by telling you about my time in the summer holidays! First me and my family got ready to travel to Spain by car. We packed loads of clothes, swimming costumes, goggles and then packed my phone, tablet and my switch (my Nintendo Switch.) Finally, we left! When we arrived, we went to a 4- star hotel by the beach. We unpacked then we went to sleep as it was midnight!  The next day we went to the beach, AND GUESS WHAT MCDONALDS ARE GLUTEN FREE!!! So, I obviously had to eat one. Well, I can’t explain everything but I stayed there for two weeks!

The First Day Of Year 6,

I was really nervous about Year 6 but also excited at the same time. I was worried about the SATS, the harder work and my new teacher, but I thought to myself it will be ok… and it was!! I put coat on my peg, then walked to my new classroom! I had a big smile on my face with excitedness and nervousness. I found my seat as my new teacher (Mrs Beresford) told me where I sit. Then we all did our 5-a-day maths in our red maths book. When we all finished, we did our circle time - we told our feelings and why. After, we moved on to English – one of my favourite subjects - and reading a new book called The Final Year we read the blurb and a bit of the first page. Next, we had lunchtime! We ate all of our food and talked, once we have finished we learnt about the RAF in history then it was home time!! I had the BEST day in my new class!

Levi-James

Hello welcome to my blog. When it was the six weeks holiday we went Skegness to the beach and arcade. Went to Cosmos and the pub.

At the back there’s our Transition wall, English books and Maths books. Our teachers are Mrs Franks, Mrs Gleaves and Mrs Beresford. On the first day, I felt terrified, calm and excited. We did circle time and forest school. On the first day, there was a thunder storm and a lot of heavy rain. I learnt a lot of things and still had fun. In English, we are doing  SPAG and active and passive voice. I am looking forward to do WW2 in History.

Thanks for reading this.

Maddison

Hi everyone!

My name is Maddison and I have just started Year 6. I want to share my first week in my last year. I am very excited to learn lots of Year 6.

A new year, a new classroom

When I walked into my new class, Mrs Beresford said we had to find our tables and chair . When I found my table, it had my red maths book on so I knew where too sit. After, I looked around the class I was looking at all the displays.

Working hard

On Friday, we had hockey in PE, we had to pair up in twos and practiced skills. After we had to turn into a group of three and we played a game of hockey with a different team of three (our team won!!) When we were going in, a couple of red arrows came across us, they were loud but they looked cool in the sky. When we got in, we did golden time (which was very fun). After, we got ready for home time then we went home.

Rosie-Leigh

The best summer holiday.

In the second week of the summer holidays, I went to Crow’s Nest Camp Site in Scarborough. On the first day, we had a chill day we were right in front of the sea side. I saw a dolphin (so cute.) On the second day, I went to Scarborough beach. I played in the arcades, I won mini Lego  and I gave it to my brother.

My first day.

When I walked in the class room, I started 5 a day (so easyyyy.) After 5 a day, I did maths (so boring.) Afterwards, I had breaktime and I met new friends.

Ruby R

Welcome to my blog

Over the six week holidays I watched films played out with my friends and went to Cosmos. I had lots of fun. The summer is over now and when I first walked in my classroom I was nervous but the classroom was nice. We had lots of fun. We have the plastic jars on every table in my class. Im on the Iguanas table. Now I will tell you what I did in class we did 5 a day circle time maths and English. I will tell you what I did in my work in maths I did fractions and after that I did learning journeys.

Thank you for reading this!

Sam

Hi everyone,

My name is Sam. You might not know me but I’m going to tell you about my first week in year 6.

In the summer

In the summer, I did lots of fun things. I played out a lot with my friend (Hunter.) We went on bike rides and we even went on HOLIDAY TOGTHER! In the evenings, I had football training and matches.

I also had a tournament which we did really amazing in. I even went on my first ever rollercoaster, it was really fun. I hope you enjoyed hearing what I did in the summer.

The work

The maths is good. We have done place value, numbers in the millions, number to ten million (which I didn’t like) and comparing numbers up to 10,000,000. In history, it was interesting and really fun. We learnt about Doncaster airport because it was a base in WW2. It was the planes from the airport who stopped the German zepplins.

Summary of the week

In summary, this week been amazing but challenging. I am looking forward to the fun, marvellous adventures to come in Year 6.

Thanks for reading my blog.

Scarlett-Rose

The best summer holidays!

In the fifth week, I went to Almeria (BEST WEEK EVER.) I was so happy, it was my first plane ride. There were pools and water slides outside the hotel. It was 28 degrees (so hot!) Thank God we had air-con in our hotel room. In Almeria, we went to a shopping centre, there was a ToyRus - I got a lego set (a kingfisher.)

Our first day together!

First, I forgot to tell you, I got the classroom that I wanted, I’m loving it so far. I got my best friends in my class Alexia, Isaac and Arriella. My teachers are Mrs Gleaves and Mrs Beresford.

Our work that we do

In English, were doing subject, verb, object and simple sentences. But in Maths, it is place value grids and millions. In History (the best subject ever) we’re doing World War 2 until Christmas. In PE, we’re doing hockey and, technically, Forest School.

Our classroom

Mrs Beresford’s classroom is near the office (by the way, it’s the best classroom.)  Because we’re near the office we get jobs from reception staff. I sit at the front of the class (near Mrs Beresford kinda the best place to sit.) I sit with Florence, Sam and Ajay. The equipment that we use are five books (for English, reading journeys, maths, power maths and learning journeys.) Plus, pencils, reflection pens, ruler, highlighter, white board rubber, white board pen and white board.

Violet

My name is Violet. Welcome to my blog!

In the summer holidays, I went to Boston Park Farm to play in the maze. Every week, I went to my nana`s house far away (in Grimsby.) After that week, I HAD TO RELAX! I also played with Ruby across the road from my house!

Our first day in a new class

I had this feeling in my stomach meeting Mrs Beresford -my new teacher- but later on once she introduced herself. I got used to her.

Our work

A while after meeting my new classmates, we got one with our work. For example, maths which I thought was hard, don’t know about my partner, Khloe. What we did next was break time for 30 minutes, then we came in. As we came in from break, I went into a group with Mrs Franks for English -  my favourite!

The classroom

As I lifted my hand up from my new desk, I looked around the classroom, it was not like I expected. It was bright and colourful. Very magnificent. It was like I could do my cheerleading in here!

Final thoughts

Even thought Year 6 isn`t like Year 5, you still have to work as a team and you might have exciting experiences coming ahead of you!

6T

Amelia

Hi everyone!

My name is Amelia-Jayne, and I’ve just started my final year of primary school. I wanted to share how we’re getting on and my experiences from my past few days.

New classroom, New teacher

When I first walked in to my new class I felt a bit nervous but after doing circle and Miss Thompson explaining our expectations, everyone settled. The teachers have said its one of the best primary years, filled with fun and many exiting trips. Our classroom is creative and welcoming because the displays are well decorated.

Our first day together

On our first day, we came in and did 5 a day it was, surprisingly, easier than I expected. Then we did English it was the same as last year: SPaG and text marking , all afternoon we stuck labels in our Topic books.

Final thoughts

I know this year will be more challenging then previous years but I know I will succeed. I will update you again later on in the year and let you know how were getting on.

Christian

Hi everybody!

My name is Christian and I’m good at drawing. I’ve just started year six (year six is the final year) and I’m going to feel happy because I’m going in to high school but sad I won’t see my friends.

Our first day together

Walking in the class room was like relaxing was gone and working was back! It felt hard at first but then it was nice. However, I was happy that I was older because I was taller.

Our work

Our work was about computing, Maths, English and more of course. It was nice and easy as it was like year five’s work. I really liked the computing because we searched information.

Final thoughts

I know that this year will be challenging and especially, the SATs tests, but if I try my best I will succeed. Also, I know lots of people in my class so I feel settled.

Emily

Hi everyone,

My name is Emily and I’m in year six now, my last year of primary school. I wanted to share what my first week has been like and what I am excited for this year.

A new classroom a new year

Walking into my new classroom was exciting and scary, but I knew my friends were there to make me feel comfortable. I’m excited to learn our wonderful topics and to meet our teacher; she said our work will not be too had this year.

Our school trips

We go on great school trips like residential and we do our leavers party which should be fun.

Harder work

Our work is harder, but we understand it’s because we need to get ready for high school. We act like role models and show the school what they need to get ready for.

Final thoughts

I know this year will be tricky but if we out our minds to it and listen we will be fine. I know I will succeed in everything as long as I have people to support me. I already feel comfortable around my class and teachers and everyone who looks up at us. I will give you at update in a month or two but it’s bye bye for now.

Freddie

Hi everyone,

My name is Freddie, and I am in my final year of primary school. I am writing this blog to share a few of my experiences of year 6  so far.

The summer holidays

I was excited and happy for year 6! It was super hot in the summer holidays. I played with my friends (Hunter and Aaron) which was fun.

New classroom, New classroom

My new teacher was fun and nice, her name is Miss Thompson. In maths, we are doing lots of fun stuff.

Looking ahead

I can’t wait for residential and SATs. I can’t wait for history.

Final thoughts

I know year 6 will be way harder but I will try my best and never give up.

Gideon

First day of year 6

My name is Gideon I started year 6 a week ago, this is how it went.

Walking in I felt anxious and sick, then we got introduced to Miss Thompson. From what I remember, she said she likes singing dancing and art as those are her hobbies. Afterwards, we did some maths and other things that aren’t really that exciting.

The classroom

The first thing I realized was that the classroom was A LOT more vibrant creative and spacious than year 5. It was also more neat and unique.

Our work

It was easier than expected but a lot harder than year 5. We did maths, English and we set up our learning journeys. I enjoyed all of it but my favourite was maths. In our learning journeys, we are doing a topic that is like history but is called locality. Also in English we are partly doing spelling.

Overall opinion.

I think year 6 will be better than year 5, but not massively better. I might struggle but it’s ok.

Gracie C

Hello there!

My name in Gracie and I am going into Year 6 - the highest Year in Primary school - and I heard that my new teacher in super nice, her name is Miss Thompson

6 weeks Holiday

Before going into my new classroom, it was the 6 weeks holiday, and now I want to tell you all about it. The first few weeks were relaxing and calm because I didn’t have to worry about school, I went on different hikes to stay healthy. Since it was so warm, we got a pool for the Summer. However, on the last week it was NOT relaxing at all, it was chaotic! Everyday my mum said “Come on let’s go school shopping.” This is the list my mum had: school shoes, school clothes and school bags. However, we got them all.

The first day

As I stepped into the neat class, I saw my friend waving at me and telling me to come over. I sat down on a big chair, then Miss Thompson told us all to clean out all of our trays to put our new stuff in. She is that kind that she lets all of us sit where me want. It was nerve-wracking. The classroom was very creative, the walls have beautiful boards and colourful displays.

The work and what we are learning

We all tried some work to get ready for the year, it was easy because we were recapping on what we have learnt last year. It was so peaceful! We started to write about the History which was about the Doncaster Sheffield Airport. It was hand-aching!

Last Thoughts

This is the final year of primary School everyone is looking at us. Me being a role model?! I know it’s going to be  harder and challenging but I got this, anyways I have my friends on my side.

Harry

Hi everyone,

My name is Harry. This is my first day in 6T and I’ve heard it is lots of fun.

A new classroom and a new teacher,

The classroom is decorated, full of world war two books. My new teacher is Miss Thompson.

She is nice and so kind so year six is gonna be good. I felt scared and anxious but I got comfortable.

Is harder than year 5 but it is ok .

What we’re learning

Maths and English like this hard. Maths is harder but it is ok to make mistakes.

Being role models

We will be showing Y5 how to be successful and kind.

Final thoughts

This is gonna be a good year and I will succeed. Everybody is looking at us.

Hunter

Hi everyone!

My name is Hunter and I wanted to share my first few days in year six and what I’m looking forward to this year.

A new classroom a new year

Stepping into my new classroom on the first day was exciting so I could see all my classmates. We have got many new topics to learn about. My new teacher, Miss Thompson, is kind and really fun. She said this year will be great but challenging.

Being role models

One thing that’s different about year six is that we have to look out for everyone and follow the rules to be role models for the younger ones. We have to make sure everyone is okay and cheer them up when sad or not included.

Looking ahead

I’m looking forward to SATs, maths and also residential. There is a lot to look forward to really.

Final thoughts

I know this year will be challenging and tricky but I have my friends and classmates that will help me through the year. Also, I know I will do well, if I do my best with reading, I will get better over time. I feel comfortable in this class with everyone. I’ll let you know how I’m getting on in a month. Bye.

Jensen

Jessie-Leigh

Jude

Hi!

My name is Jude, I am in my last year of primary (year 6). I am excited to be in this year as you can get jobs around the school. I want to share my experiences in year 6 so far.

A new teacher, a new classroom.

The first day of year 6 was so fun! We set up our learning journeys and didn’t do a lot of real work. Along with that, it was very hectic and chaotic since we had a new routine. The work was also fun and easy but a bit harder than the work we did in year 5.

The classroom

The classroom was so colourful and bright. Also, the classroom was neat and unique because of the designs everywhere, and it is so spacious that it made a better atmosphere.

Looking ahead

Right now, I am enjoying all of the lessons but the two things I am so excited for will be SATs and the residential trip. In English, at the moment, we are learning about active and passive voice and in maths, we are learning about numbers up to 10 million.

Being role models

Being looked at by the entire school is nerve wracking but it also means I am trusted with a lot more jobs such as going down to the year 1/2 playgrounds.

Thoughts

This year will be a bit trickier but all that matters is that I try my best then I will succeed. Also, I am already used to the new year because many of our routines are the same as before.

Justina

Hi everybody!

My name is Justina and I have entered the final year of primary this week (year 6)! I thought it would be nice to share my experience with you so you could have an insight of my first few days.

Summer Holidays

A little earlier this year, the 6 weeks holidays had started and during that time, I had one performance, a short holiday, one competition and loads of fun! It was extremely hectic and busy but I still found a way to make it magnificent.

The first day

Stepping into the spacious classroom on the first day was extremely nerve-racking, yet I felt optimistic about it despite being nervous. My teacher, who we call Miss Thompson, welcomed and greeted us warmly, she is so kind and funny! I was very surprised by the work since I expected it to be very challenging and difficult.

The classroom

In the room, there are multiple work boards and each of them are very unique! I think the ideas for the classroom are absolutely phenomenal! If I could, I would love to learn some of these cool and creative crafts.

Final thoughts

I’m really looking forward to this whole year and I believe I will have a fantastic experience here in the final year! I think this class will be really memorable just like the others. I’m really excited for residential, Crucial Crew and SATs and I think this year will be the best.

Kayden

Hi everyone,

My name is Kayden, and I’ve just started year six - which is sadly the last year - but anyways. I’m enjoying my new class and I’m going to tell you all about it. I’m so happy.

My new teacher

When I walked into my new class, I was very scared but then Miss Thompson (my new teacher) said hi to me so I just said hi back, When I sat down my teacher talked about herself and we got know her more which made me more comfortable.

My new classroom

On transition day, I walked in and wasn’t very comfortable with how the classroom looked. All of the old year six’s work was still on all of the walls. The air in the room smelled the old year six’s. It must have been stinky but on my actual first day, the classroom definitely was better.

What work I will be doing

So anyways about the work I will be doing... Firstly, I did know that this year of doing work will be harder than year five and all my other years. But Miss Thompson said to all the class, “There’s no need to worry it will be fun and not much harder than last year.” Which made me much better and less scared.

My new classmates

I was a bit sad on the first day and your probably wondering why, I will tell you. One of my friends was sadly put in the other class but I learned to get over it and make new friends. Since that day I have lots of new friends and I also got to meet new friends and got to know them and what there lifestyle is about.

Final thoughts

I really know this year will be harder than year five but I know I will not struggle and I will not give up. I will succeed and I will always try my best. So bye guys I will update you soon. See you later.

Kendra

Lavinia

Hi everyone,

My name is Lavinia and I’ve just started Year 6 - the final year of primary school. I just wanted to share my week (kind of) and what it feels like to be as a year 6 student.

A new classroom, new teacher!

As I walked in my new classroom, I felt a little anxious as if butterflies were hovering all over the place! I looked around, nice displays, colourful layering. I even got to meet my new teacher, Miss Thompson who was revealed to be kind, funny and beautiful. Can’t forget Miss Oglesby too! She said that year 6 can be tough but as long as you put your mind to it, you might just be proud of yourself.

What were learning!

In English, we are learning a new topic called complex sentences. In maths, we are learning negative numbers. We are reading a book called The Final Year like us, as were in the final year.

Final thoughts

I know that this year will be trickier than the rest of my time in year 4 and 5, but as long as I believe in myself, everything will go smoothy, especially in my SATs. Plus, I know that my friends will be around to support me. I feel pretty comfortable around them anyway.

Lavinia-Louise

Hi everyone

My name is Lavinia-Louise and this is my first week in year six as it’s my final year in Long Toft Primary School. I wanted to share what my first week has been like and what I’m most excited about this year.

A new class, a new teacher.

When l walked in my new classroom, l was a little scared but l was very happy and exited to see my new teacher. We’ve got loads of new things to do and the classroom was so beautiful and colourful, l loved it! My teacher, Miss Thompson, is really kind and funny. She said Year 6 is fun.

What we’re learning

So far, we’ve started a new topic which is based on our locality. I love planes so I’m thrilled about that. In maths, we’re working on place value and I’m really good at long multiplication. Miss Thompson says it’s okay to make mistakes everybody makes mistakes!

Final Thoughts

I know that the work in year six is harder than in year 5 but I will succeed. We will have SATs tests and we will be prepared for them.

Olivia-May

Hi everyone,

My name is Olivia-May and I have just started Year 6 (the final year of primary school.) I want to share my experiences of year 6 and what it feels like to be at the final stage of primary school. I am so EXCITED!

A new classroom, a new teacher!

Walking into my new classroom was kind of scary, I felt anxious and had butterflies in my stomach at one point. On the first day, it was crazy because everyone was so excited they even screamed they were that happy. I was looking around at all of the beautiful, colourful displays then all of a sudden, I saw a beautiful teacher, her name was Miss Thompson. She explained about her hobbies. Her hobbies are singing and dancing and she is kind and funny. And we can not forget about Miss Oglesby.

Ruby F

Hi!!

My name is Ruby and I’ve started year 6 (the last year of primary school!) I wanted to tell you how my first week has been, what I’ve done and also my favourite parts this week.

A new classroom a new teacher

Surprisingly, me and Miss Thompson (my teacher) have a lot in common. She likes art, like me! She also likes dancing and singing, so do I.

The summer holidays before school started

The summer was so hot and sunny. I went to lots of fun places and I also went camping ( I learned how to ride a bike!)

Final thoughts

My favourite part so far is that we have a new child in our class! I love all the creativity in the classroom. I am a little bit nervous because we have SATS and it’s my final year. I hope you liked my blog that I shared with you, bye!

Ruby T

Hey,

I am Ruby and I go to Long Toft Primary. I have just gone into Year 6 with Miss Thompson. I’m writing this blog to tell you about my first week.

Summer holidays

We all went camping in a tent to Skegness. I went to a sandy beach and swam in the sea. I had a delicious Oreo ice cream sundae. At night we played a game of cops and robbers.
