This year we have 2 classes in Year 2.
The adults in class 7 are Mrs France and Mrs Moores.
The adults in Class 8 are Mrs Gawthorp and Mrs West.
We also work closely with all the staff in Year 1.
Please bring your PE kit to school at the start of every half term and then it can stay on your peg until the end of each half term. This was we don’t have to worry about forgetting our kit!
Each half term we will send home a home learning map for your children to select activities from. Please help your child with their home learning, we’re sure that you’ll have great fun together!
We still continue to expect your child to read at least 4 times each week. As we explained on Meet The Teacher day, reading is a crucial part of your child’s development and your children will be expected to become confident, independent readers by the end of Year 2. If your children fail to do this they will be expected to stay in during their break/lunchtime and complete the task.
Spellings will also be sent home each week. The number of spellings your child is given will depend on their individual abilities.
In October we invited our parent's to come into school for a picnic. They could eat all of the delicious treats we made earlier in the day.
Our first topic this year will be contrasting localities; comparing where we live to the lives of children in Kenya.
