Who we are and how we learn.
Our year six teachers are Mrs. Buxton and Mrs. Beresford, who are supported by Miss Oglesby and Mrs. Lucas. In year six we work very hard towards our SATs, which we are taking very seriously. However, we are confident that we are doing our best in lessons and so we do not need to worry too much about our SATs.
Children in Year 6 need their PE kits on a Monday and Tuesday but it is best if all children bring them all week. Children are expected to read four times a week and complete 5 pieces of homework from their home learning menu each half term.
All the adults in our year six team are happy to help any children or their parents/carers who may have questions for us. We are available most evenings after school.
We used our drama skills to act out the circulatory system.
As part of our life skills lessons we have learnt about healthy eating and we made healthy pitta breads with some ingredients we hadn't tried before. we have also taken part in sports coaching lessons with Mr. Denovan and learnt sign language with Mrs. Pollard.
As part of our art topic making Roman mosaics we went outside to see what pictures we could make from nature.
On Tuesday 26th September the parents of class 1 came into school to take part in our picnic. We spent all morning preparing the food and it was delicious!
On Thursday the 9th of November we spent the day at Murton Park living like Roman soldiers.
During E-safety week, we did a variety of work to make sure that we could stay safe online.
In February, we took a chilly trip to Eden Camp where we learnt all about what it was like in World War Two.
